Built around 1831 by William Elliott and Sarah Wilson White on land leased from the Catawba Indians, it is one of the earliest brick structures in York County.

Springs Close Family Archives' was established to preserve the historical documents, antiques, and fine arts collections pertaining to the history of the White, Springs & Close families, Springs Industries, and the surrounding communities.
